Arik Air

Arik Air is a Nigerian airline operating at regional and international level. The company, like all the others, will be able to face several aerial disturbances. For all its departure at the airports of the European Union, it must comply with the European regulation 261/2004 on assistance and compensation and defines the conditions of the latter.

The tool below is an effective and free way to claim compensation in case of cancellation, delay or denied boarding.

Cancellation ... What do you need to know?

You should know that the company is not responsible if the reasons for the cancellation come from exceptional conditions (weather.ex), and that no file will be eligible for compensation.
In the event of a last minute cancellation caused by a crew strike or other reasons and the company could anticipate this, the traveler will be entitled to a compensation of up to € 600. Travelers should be aware of any cancellations at least 15 days before.
The company provides a support service with meals or refreshments and accommodation if necessary ... this is according to the waiting time of the passengers.
€ 250 for flights up to 1500km
€ 400 for flights up to 3500km
€ 600 for flights over 3500km

Overbooking and denied boarding

In case of overbooking, the company could not avoid denied boarding ... voluntary or involuntary! and this forces him to propose other alternatives.
Travelers will have the right to choose between a refund or flight re-routing and assistance service in the same way as cancellation or delay.
What compensation is the overbooked flight?
€ 250 for flights up to 1500km, € 400 for flights up to 3500km and € 600 for those over 3500km.

Delay and its conditions

Just like cancellation, the company is not liable if the delay is caused by exceptional conditions.
Under the regulations, the company must provide assistance based on the waiting time of passengers at the airport.
The delay obviously depends on the distance of the journey: 2 hours for flights up to 1500km, 3 hours for flights up to 3500km and 4 hours for flights over 3500km
The delay must be three hours or more, calculated after arrival at the airport. Any delay exceeding three hours, not justified gives the right to compensation between € 250 and € 600.

Missed Connecting Flight

In case of missed connection, what to do?
First of all, you need to find out about the conditions of delay (or cancellation). The company must be at fault.
If it is the same company, the traveler will have no worries and will benefit from a re-routing to the destination. That said, if the traveler holds tickets from several companies, the one who made the first flight with a delay of at least three hours (calculated on arrival at the airport) will bear the responsibility for a missed connection.
Passengers could pay a fee to the second company to redeem the missed flight! They are entitled to assistance and compensation of up to € 600 (depending on the flight distance).
