Emirates is an airline known and appreciated for the quality of its flights and services.
European regulation CE N. 261/2004 protects travelers from any disruption to flights (cancellation, delay, overbooking) that may occur at Emirates for all departures from airports located in European Union countries.

Cancellation at Emirates departing from an EU airport

In case of cancellation of the planned flight, you will be entitled to assistance and benefits. You can choose one of the three proposals:
- A refund of the price of your air ticket for the part of the trip not made as well as those made.
- A rerouting to the final destination.

You can also claim compensation if the cancellation was not caused by extraordinary circumstances and you have not been notified in advance (15 days).

Overbooking ... Denied boarding

The company can overbook to prevent cancellations.
In this case, travelers have the right to choose between a refund or a rerouting (see cancellation), and claim compensation up to 600 €.

The company must offer assistance in the same way as cancellation.

Delays at Emirates

What there is to know:
- Travelers are entitled to assistance for delays caused, it depends on the waiting time at the airport (meals, refreshments, accommodation, ...)
- Travelers are entitled to compensation for any delay not caused by extraordinary circumstances (such as weather conditions) for any delay of three hours (calculated after arrival at the airport).

The compensation varies according to the route: 250 € for the trips of up to 1500km, 400 € for the flights of up to 1500km and 600 € for the flights of more than 3500km.

Missed Connecting Flight

Travelers sometimes opt for flights with one or more stops, it can be entertaining and positive. In the case of a delay of the first flight, the travelers can miss their correspondence and it is not always pleasant!

Travelers are protected by European regulations and can claim compensation for any delay exceeding three hours (on arrival). The compensation varies between € 250 and € 600.

It is important to learn about the companies that handle the connections, if it is the same company, travelers will benefit from a re-routing to the destination. In the case of various companies, the traveler could pay a fee to exchange his flight!
