The study is being conducted by Skytrax, an international airline rating agency, which includes the best airports in the world … and announces the first prize for Singapore Changi Airport.
For the seventh year in a row, Changi Airport won the World Airport Awards and Singapore Airlines, based at Changi Airport, was named Skytrax’s Company of the Year.
A great performance of the establishment that stands out worldwide, including its organization, beautiful architecture, luxury amenities and numerous restaurants and shops.
Skytrax’s ranking is based on the impressions of millions of passengers, on 39 service and performance parameters, from more than 100 countries … for 500 airports in all. The top 15 places are occupied by Asia and European airports.
1- Singapore Changi International Airport
The airport records annually nearly 65.6 million. For the seventh consecutive year, the airport occupies the first place thanks to the praise of Skytrax users for the beautiful architecture of the airports and all the services on offer (restaurants, luxury boutiques, cinemas, spas, …).
2- Tokyo Haneda International Airport
HND comes in second place. It is located a few kilometers from the heart of the Japanese capital, welcoming a year: 87.1 million passengers.
The airport won 2nd place while being one of the two main international airports serving the Tokyo area. It is an airport very popular with business travelers and tourists.
3- Incheon International Airport
In the third position, Incheon International Airport (ICN) stands out with its location on an island just outside the South Korean capital. The airport has nearly 68.4 million passengers a year.
4- Hamad International Airport
With 34.5 million passengers a year, the airport and its two terminals occupy a land area of 2,185 hectares … This is the largest terminal complex in the world, according to Skytrax.
5- Hong Kong International Airport
The HKG is ranked number 5, with 74.5 million passengers. Clarifying that the airport is on an artificial island off the coast of Hong Kong. It is one of the busiest airports in Asia.
6- Chubu Centrair International Airport
The NGO registers 9.8 million passengers a year, located in a major city for Japan Airlines and ANA. Voted the best regional airport in the world too, the platform features traditional Japanese public baths … a way to offer relaxation to travelers.
7- Munich Airport
Munich Airport has 46.3 million passengers a year, thanks in particular to its airy architecture. Travelers can enjoy a mini golf and an exhibition of historic aircraft in a nearby park.
8- London Heathrow Airport
London Heathrow Airport (LHR) receives 80.1 million passengers a year. The airport is starting renovations with the addition of a new building at Terminal 2. Heathrow is the main hub of British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
9- Tokyo Narita International Airport
Narita NRT Tokyo International Airport is distinguished by efficient and friendly staff, clean facilities and numerous restaurants. The platform hosts 42.6 million passengers a year, being located 35 km from the Japanese capital.
10- Zurich Airport
The ZRH is only 13 km from the center of Zurich … and what is really great is that the Zurich airport offers passengers a stopover bike rental and roller skates and excursions to the Swiss Museum transport in Lucerne.
With 29.4 million passengers a year, it serves as the basis for Swiss International Air Lines.
11- Kansai International Airport
With no less than 28.9 million passengers a year, the Kansai International Airport is popular for its modern architecture, clean facilities and helpful staff. It is located on an artificial island of Osaka Bay.
12- Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) receives 69.5 million passengers a year. It is ranked the fourth busiest airport in Europe and one of the most important transit hubs in the world. Its ranking demonstrates the ease of transit between terminals and for the many shops and restaurants.
13- Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport
Taiwan Taoyan International Airport (TPE) is located outside the Taiwanese capital, but is considered the largest airport in Taiwan. With a passenger number reaching 42.3 million passengers, users highlight the VSE service, its own environment and the speed of identity checks.
14- Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS)
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport receives 71.1 million passengers a year, it is one of the busiest airports in Europe … with a library that allows travelers to relax with a book.
15- Copenhagen Airport
