Ranking of the best airlines in 2020

AirlineRatings.com, the site specializing in aviation safety and benefit assessments, has published the ranking of the best airlines in 2020. For this, a team of seven editors is studying a number of safety-related factors but also the opinions of the passengers, the evaluation of the investment and the profitability, the state of the fleet as well as the proposed classes with their options and the personnel reports.

In first place was Air New Zealand, which, apart from last year, has won first place in six of the past seven years. The airline conquered the editors with an exceptional performance compared to the best carriers. The company’s commitment to excellence concerns all of its activities. According to Air New Zealand’s interim CEO Jeff McDowall, this first prize is won thanks to the commitment of 12,500 airline employees, who constantly strive to provide a unique experience to customers every day.

Air New Zealand also has the Best Premium Class award.

Singapore Airlines also stands out with a second position, after a first position in 2019, thanks to its superb suites at the front of the upper deck of the airline’s flagship Airbus A380. The carrier is constantly reinventing itself and its journeys, especially with an evaluation process considered to be one of the most demanding in the industry.

Singapore Airlines received first prize with its new suites in 1st class.

No French company appears on the 2020 ranking

The third position is won by ANA, which recently unveiled its new first class and business class cabins. The company is followed by Qantas, which ranks first for the best domestic air service by drawing attention to its high-end transcontinental service aboard the Airbus A330.

Cathay Pacific comes in fifth place followed by Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, EVA Air, Qatar Airways and finally Virgin Australia which finishes this TOP 10.

Qatar Airways obtains the award for Best Business Class, also obtained in 2019. Also, the title of “Best Restaurant Service” and “Best Lounge”.

Virgin Australia obtains the title of Best Crew. “Virgin Australia has redefined the travel experience with its Economy X, Premium Economy and exceptional business class,” said Thomas.

Emirates, despite its sixth position, it won the category of “Best entertainment on board”.

The AirlineRatings.com team also published the ranking of the best low cost by region, giving these results: JetBlue in the Americas, Wizz in Europe, Air Asia / Air Asia X in Asia / Pacific and Air Arabia in the Middle East / Africa.
